Chat Rooms as a concept is fine. We have given it a try in the past but had to be called off due to complaints. Chat rooms need constant attention and control to be effective. We found that instead of evolving we began to devolve. Tell me honestly how many answers do we get to the questions asked? It is always the same group of die-hard Answerers.
Itis very easy to ask Questions (as can be seen by the number of Questions asked by the writer above). How many of these are answered by the same Writer?
It is a thankless and honorary job. None of us, Editors get paid for the effort we put in. It is our love for spreading knowledge that keeps us going.
You will observe that even Yahoo who had user-generated public chat rooms had to discontinue the feature. Spammers and trolls have a field day and the chat rooms see a flurry of unwanted activity.
If you need to communicate, the channel of PM (Personal Message) is always available.
