Hello anjali aunty and users...

I want to have little attenstion of editors and anjali jii...

New users coming on this site flipping old pages.. Seems they are much interested to read all the question and some questions are so old like one year old, six months old and so on... Those queation displaying on homepage.. I think that there is no use of answering those question now.

And such question really blocking new questions. user do not get sufficient replies because of this.

Editors cant stop new users answering old question

But anjali aunty can decide this. Some limitation on numbers of answers or time deadline can be implemented. That can block answering old question.

THANK YOU.

Dear Anjali,

The "aunty" after your name makes you appear much "older" that you really must be!!

I dont think it would be nice to prevent replies to old queries, unless there is a constraint of space. Yes a time frame of 6 months, after which replies are blocked is fair enough.

You could call me a new user, though I have been on this site last 5-6 years. Its only now that I have been replying to some of the questions. Reason being that though I tried in the past (am a fan of Oye's replies) it was cumbersome. The present format is very user friendly. The replies are edited for proper English usage and grammar.

However I do observe that the same people reply to most of the questions. There needs to be more communication.

Regards,
When we have a problem, we ask someone trusted, the term Aunty is like that, somewhere close to a trusted one.

This site is about 3 years old, you are talking of 5-6 years, is it years or months?

Yes some people reply to most questions because these some people feel that when some one asks a question, they shouldnot have a feeling that noone cares for them. These days getting a friend who has the ear to listen to a problem is rare, unless that is juicy. But all questions are not juicy and they want some one to reply.
Yeah, I could have been exaggerating! Maybe 3 -4 years, time always flies. Ok the point about Auntiji, is taken. That must make you an "Uncleji". Only in jest!!

Your replies are always meaningful, non-judgemental and exhaustive.

I have browsed this section earlier, but the content then was atrocious. Imagine trying to write english in a local language. And most questions were like that...no substance.

Keep up the great work you and the others are doing.
Yeah, bad days behind us when people used to use this platform as English Language Training Center.

We want good and thoughtful question and we want to see caring and accurate reply.  Unfortunately still a lot of people try to reply some question where they dont have any expertise, that includes me too (as some have already accused me).
Oye,

One point still bothers me. Reply to a query is fine as long as it is scientifically grounded, but I often notice that some of the replies are judgemental. Every adult (who has the constitutional right to vote) has the right to decide what is good for him/her.

Take the case of Incest:

The Indian legal statutes do not contain any specific provisions against incest. Many developed countries such as Britain, the US and Germany have strong laws against incest. UK, which made incest punishable in 1908, sets a prison term of 12 years for the offence. Punishment in the US varies from one state to another; extending to 20 years in the state of Massachusetts, while in Hawaii it is five years. Some countries have, however, abolished or diluted their laws against incest - this is invariably because many of them viewed sexual partnerships between closely related persons - even adults - as incestuous, and in recent years there has been some liberalisation of their views on this. Incest involving minors, on the other hand, is uniformly frowned upon in the developed world.

I am not advocating Incest. Rather on the contrary, I detest it. But am just making a point.

I agree with you mr. akk0907.
Super Admin, tech admin, moderator and our group of editters should look into it

Every question should be discussed as much as possible,as long as possible, from every possible angles!!!! If a new user has a different perspective regarding a discussion of six months old,he/she should be allowed to post it. A six months' old thread may not be useful for the opening poster, but they may be useful for future visitors/questioners.

i agree with your view points. But do me a favour.. Check the question catagory of old question which are answered. No sensible question or no progressive suggestion is given there... comments on ARTICLES can be acceptable because its AA's blog..
Generally question asked by any user is his/her own problem.. Not a discussion issue. After one year your valuable suggestion are of no use. Thats my point.

A lot of new users are exploring older questions, thats encouraging. But all these questions were replied before, the Admins couldnot port the reply on new version doesnot mean none responded to those.

I feel questions should have an expiry date, like 6 weeks from the date of posting, the answer option should be blocked.
answered Jan 21 by oye (21,620 points)
Yes six weeks is a sufficient time........
Bro, on the Question Tab at the top of the page, you can find all the latest questions.

Go through the question page on the below of the page you will see tab , you can see all questions in list-in basis.

Good idea..
Though this idea was suggested previously still it is not implemented..
The reason may be either Anjali madam has some better idea or it will take some more time to be implemented..
Actual fact can only be known from Anjali madam or Loka ji..

Krish you are right, its a technical issue, and possibly Anjali ji might have a look on this.

In fact on the second version, this was done, once a bet answer was selected, any further addition of reply was closed, unless Super Admin added anything. So technically its possible, its a matter of decision whether should be a answer selection based closure or time expiry based.

Interestingly after posting this question, a few people got more curious on old questions. Rather than serving the questions purpose, it worked as thanks for reminding, let me make some fun again.
answered Jan 21 by oye (21,620 points)
Yes brother, I also found that for some it acted as a reminder to reply the old questions..
