Dear Anjali Aunty,

This story starts from when me and my girlfriend were having sex in my car in a dark park under the trees when 2 cops came out of nowhere and caught us red handed. They took my car keys and our mobiles and demanded to call the girl's parents right away or to go to the police station.

Calling the parents or going to the police station was like my girlfriend being killed by her parents, so after like 30 minutes of negotiation the harami police man gave us an option to let both of then have sex with my girlfriend and they would let us go. Her parents getting to know about me and her having sex literally meant death for her, so finally we came to the decision that she would have sex with both of them and then we will be free to go.

Both of them took 10 minutes each having sex inside my car while me and the other waited outside. I could see them making her change positions for better pleasure and both of them came inside my girlfriend forcefully. My girlfriend even took tablets to stop her from getting pregnant, but she is now pregnant and we don't know how to get out of this mess. 

Please help us.

   Why didn't you mention your age? Its critical that people mention some basic details which helps us put the question in context. I just could not ignore the gravity of this question and hence chose to publish it. I am assuming that both of you are adults (because you had a car with you.)

   I do not know if you realise the seriousness of the incidents that has happened to the both of you. Your girlfriend was physically assaulted and raped. Rape is one of the most heinous crime in society and I believe it is our moral and social obligation to do everything in our power to prevent such incidents and help bring the perpetrators to justice. 

   Staying silent is as bad as abetment to the crime. 

   A rape victim undergoes severe psychological trauma which unless counseled properly, will have long term harmful effects throughout her life. I urge you to confront her parents about this. One round of parental scolding is nothing compared to the wrong that you will do by staying silent. I am sure your girlfriend's father will have her best intention in mind and will help you punish the criminals.

   Since she is pregnant, that is tangible proof of the rape. My first advise would be to confess everything to her parents as it happened. Take her dad's help and advise to go forward from here. Or you can omit the part where you two were caught having sex. You can say that the policemen caught you when you were simply spending time together. Tell that you were afraid of going to the police station and confronting her parents. You were under threat and intimidation when the rape happened. It would have been excellent of you could have taken some photographs of the cops.

   Either way once you report this to the police, they can pin point the officers who were in duty in the park during the time when this happened. You and your girlfriend can then identify them.

   Listen dear, I realise the pain and social stigma attached to standing up for something like this. Please remember, that India today is changing. Women today are empowered in our country like never before. Earlier it was considered the woman's fault if she was raped and she was considered an outcast, but perception today has changed significantly -especially in your generation. Ours is a time where social empowerment is at its best. Think about the number of incidents we see in the media. I honestly urge you to not be silent about this. There is no end to what these rogue cops will do next.

   Take help of NGOs, lawyer friends, activists etc who will guide you in this matter. Take elders into confidence. I am especially worried about your girlfriend. She need physical and mental treatment after undergoing something like this. The more you delay, the more harm you will do. Please do not be scared. Go and talk to her parents. The pregnancy can be aborted in a private clinic or a government hospital for free. But since this is a police matter, you should take their consultation first. The rapists can be successfully identified from the DNA of the unborn child.

   I can understand your situation and feel sorry for what happened to you. This fucking policemen will always use their powers in wrong ways.
    
   Let me tell you the truth buddy that you and your girlfriend both are big fools. I don't understand how a girl can select the option of going for a sex with 2 unknown people rather than selecting the option to let her parents know about her affair? The option what you choose was itself a wrong one. When this option was given to you, you should have chosen to go to her parents and face the situation. It would have given you some hard time but not as hard as a rape and the worse part is that she is pregnant now.
    
   You could have done something there and then. You should have spoken with a louder and confident sound and decided to let them call your parents or you could have ran away with the car. In short you could have shown some presence of mind and courage. You are still young. This incident will make you a tougher and a stronger person in future.
    
   Ok, whatever happened is a past. Your first step now should be going for an abortion. The worse thing has already happened so whatever you do against those policemen now will be for the society now. Your chapter is already ended except one thing, her pregnancy. So go for the abortion and finish this chapter and then decide what you want to do. Whether you want to fight against this crime to make our society cleaner or you want to forget all this issues and start a new and a fresh life.    1. take her to a lady doctor and explain what has happened (better be true to her because u have told u two were having sex, dono whether protected or unprotected she might be pregnant bcoz of u too) and get aborted as soon as possible also try going for a DNA test for record
   2.Be with ur love try to console her she will need you .. Never ever hurt her by ur words for godsake .

   The situation of getting caught by your parents was better than getting harassed/raped by police.. you are in bigger shit now..
   Firstly consult a doctor and get things in order w.r.t pregnancy. How long is the pregnancy, which month ?
   Hope you guys are matured enough (if both are in adult age group)., identify those bastards policemen.. consult any association who fights for women welfare.. Make it a big issue in media/legally as you guys have lost you mental piece.. Such bastards will keep doing it to other citizens if nobody rataliates to this wrong doing.. 8. The first thing I would prefer is to get an abortion. This guy who was caught red handed is not going to accept her for his life time and he just is making  his part secure. And as Anjali says if the parents come to know the whole tale the boy will get out easily without knowing the pain the girl suffers just because of him. And no way that girl is going to do good with the baby and by all knowing this incident people are going to spoil her life, her education , her future.

   First get your blood checked for HIV
   
   Consult a lady doctor if it is a family doctor it is much better and have it aborted though killing a baby is a crime but is much better than to give birth and bring to this world where there is no humanity among people
   
   Leave everything behind and start a new life, change your location, leave all your past behind, at the same time do take all the records you have with this boy friend of yours including nude pictures, videos and all other things, because once if you leave it, it is going to hit the internet and your life is going to a huge mess until you learn to bother the least. Because this boy is trying to escape his name out of this mess and once he is out then you will have to pay for it.
   
   How the hell did you allow these two strangers to have sex with you your parents would have scolded you but yet would have supported you much better than you think and they are the one who is going to be there with you the whole life and not your boy friend.

9. No idea is coming into my head. All the good options are above me. Police sabse bada chor hota hai. When ever there is a accident of train or bus police wont let anyone go inside why you know ? Salle saab lut ke le jayenge pehle. And when the passenger survives then they will say later its burnt or crushed. If this incident would be with me then I would have tried to kill those 2 policemens then & there and I dont what would have happened to me but never given my Girl friend to get raped. I know talking is easy but I would have tried that. Anyway you both are safe thats good. Everything will be perfect.

    You are calling this police officer/hawalders as harami, for what?  Wait a few days, your so called girl friend is going to give birth to real harami.

    When you are fucking free, that is alright.  When those police guys made a deal with you, you are the guy who didnot want to get caught by her parents, rather pushed your girlfriend to be fucked by the police.  SHAME ON YOU.  You are lucky they were not gay, else right now your girl friend would have been writing now.

11. First things first, go ahead and make her have an abortion. There is no point keeping the baby of one of those bastards. Then why dont you try and discuss with some of your elders if not your parents directly. In case you know someone who is in a position of power, then you can always approach him or her. The media is another option that the two of you can explore if you can get the assurance from them that your identity would not be revealed. There is nothing else much that you can do as an ordinary citizen which is the problem in this country. We unfortunately are tied down by our own society which prevents you from even mentioning anything to either of your families, who ideally should have been the ones standing behind you. But as you said, one word and that would be the end of your girl friend who would be happily sacrificied on the altar of "honour killing". Well see if things work out but please dont ditch her now that she needs all the help that you can give her.

My point is not under any circumstances, should the guy chicken out from reporting it to the police. And since it is he (not his girlfriend) who has written to me, I feel he should swallow his guilt/fear for the greater good of his girlfriend. Admonishing him will not only make him hide.

23. I will never blame you for what has happend. You are just a victim of curcumstances. But if you can figure out who the cops are, which station they belong to etc: what is stopping you from confronting them? If you really care for your girl-friend fight against them. These bastards in uniform should be punished. Or else they may do it again with someone helpless like you. Temporarly you may hide these issues but if you happen to marry your "raped" girl friend you will possibly treat your girl friends expected child as un-wanted. But these things are bond to happen when we feel we are more "liberal" and follow "western" culure. If you really honoured "Indian" culture, then you would not have taken your girl friend to an isolated place inviting trouble.     Wow i totally agree with u Kalpesh u sound to be a very level headed guy but u cant expect everybody to be level headed when they are in a situation of guilt, fear and state of shock. I definitely feel this couple must be max 19 or 20 and this is the age that wants to explore everything so they must not have had time to even think and do u know how these police guys are? they can really make u feel like a convict even if u haven't done a mistake. Any way whatever has happened is happened so taking consideration for their age i would suggest an abortion ASAP and just concentrate on standing on his own legs and then speak to her parents and get married cuz now he is definitely responsible for life ahead and she will never be able to get this scar out of her mind. It is better that they spend the rest of their life together so at least she will not be living in guilt.

    Look sunshine, you certainly have gathered a lot of people’s sympathy, a few like me are exception. Everyone has bitter experience with Police, get moral support is easy. But I dont believe Police give sex as more priority over cash.

    Difference on rape and not is consent. She ofcourse gave consent, you cant prove its a rape. Rather you can go for blackmail frame.
    The girl is physically abused, dont run for all law issue now, her mental abuse will be in public, remainder of social abuse might push her to a bad ending.
