Women also suffer from PREMATURE ORGASM

Not many people know that many women also reach orgasm before they wish to. Just like men with erectile dysfunction (ED) who spill the beans too soon when having sex, women also have the same problem.

When premature orgasms are being discussed, the average person limits it to men.

Not many people know that many women also reach orgasm before they wish to, just like men with erectile dysfunction (ED) who spill the beans too soon when having sex.

Women have the problem too, in a way that International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) says is “similar to premature ejaculation in men, but has not been as widely studied.”

A 2011 Sexologies’ study investigated how common premature orgasm was among a group of 510 Portuguese women between the ages of 18 and 45.

The women were given a special questionnaire asking them to state if they have reached orgasm too soon and how it happened if they ever did.

  1. 40% had premature orgasms every once in a while
  2. 14% had premature orgasm frequently
  3. 3% had premature orgasms all the time
  4. 42% did not have problems with premature orgasms

ISSM notes that, like with men’s premature ejaculation, female premature orgasm can be a problem for both the man and the woman when it happens.

One of the participants captures the idea in her comment.

“I finish very quickly, whereas my boyfriend doesn’t get a chance to,” she said.

“Once I orgasm, I find it uncomfortable to continue, the mood changes, and he ends up missing out, which I feel bad about.”

It must be noted that that the scientists who conducted the study said their findings were preliminary and further research is needed to learn more about premature orgasm in various groups of women.

However, this gives insight into the sexual problems women face.

In fact, some women have suffered this condition without knowing exactly what they face.

If you are one of them, seeing a doctor for sex therapy/counselling is a good idea.

Have you ever suffered premature orgasm?

  • 30.3% Yes, once in a while.
  • 46.0% Yes, almost every time.
  • 12.9% No, never.
  • 10.8% I am not sure.
